On the evening of July 3, 2011 The Perry, Perry Center Fire Departments, and Perry EMS were dispatched to a report of furniture and a tree on fire outside the house at 42 Elm St. in the Village. First arriving officers on scene observed the fire had quickly spread and called a working structure fire. The incident would end up advancing to 3rd alarm assignment, bringing in apparatus and manpower from across Wyoming, Livingston and Genesee Counties. As a result of the fire, two buildings were declared total losses.
